Head of Primary
Reception Class Teacher
I was born outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which is located in the North East of the United States of America. I graduated from Council Rock High school a semester early to take college level courses before heading to Penn State University for my undergraduate degree. My degree is in Elementary Education and my concentration is in Bio-Behavioral Health. While in University I held the vice presidential position in my sorority and graduated with honors as a result of being recognised for great performance in my year long classroom practical.
After traveling through Europe, I decided to explore Tanzania and worked with an organisation, holding CPD seminars in English Medium Schools in and around Arusha. I fell in love with Tanzania and since 2007 have been working in the country as a teacher. I am currently the Head of Primary and teach Reception here at Morogoro International School.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking (I have climbed Kilimanjaro twice using the Marangu and Machame routes as well as hiked from New Hampshire to Maine on a section of the Appalachian Trail), spending
time with my family (I have 4 children, 3 of which study here at MIS and working alongside the PTA to organise events and fundraisers for our students.
