The primary section of the school encompasses Years 1 to 6 (Key Stages 1 and 2). Children enter in Year 1 at five years old and progress through to year 6 developing skills and maturity so that they are well prepared for the challenges of secondary school that follow.
The first years of a child’s education must provide the foundation for a successful secondary school, and future life, experience. We aim to develop in each child a spirit of curiosity, a sense of self-worth and the highest standards of behaviour. Each individual fulfils his or her own academic potential and looks forward to challenge at every level. Children also learn how to co-operate and to develop the skills of community life.
The level of academic challenge increases as the children enter the primary section. The broad and balanced curriculum and the individual attention that pupils receive within small classes ensure that by the age of 11 they are well prepared to move on to secondary school.
