There are 175 days of school in a year and most of these are full teaching days except for Parent Teacher Consultations on the last day of each term. The boarding students, of course, are in school throughout the weekends as well although there are 6 Exeat weekends in a year when they have the option to go home. There is a full programme of activities to occupy the boarders on most weekends.
The school year is split into 3 terms; the first extending from late August to the first week of December, the second beginning in early January until Easter and the third from the Easter break until late June. Each term is roughly bisected by a one week half term holiday.
